Tereza Dočkalová comes from Nový Jičín. She studied acting at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and, while still a student, appeared as a guest at the local Komorní scéna Aréna, where she later joined the ensemble and quickly built a reputation as a distinctive interpreter of psychologically demanding roles. Since 2013, she has been a member of the ensemble of Divadlo pod Palmovkou, where she has so far portrayed 25 major roles in successful productions, many of which remain in the theatre’s repertoire to this day. In addition to theatre, she is also involved in dubbing, radio programmes and presenting.
She received her first Thalia Award for an actress under 33 in 2011, while still working at Aréna. The jury was impressed by her interpretation of Nina Zarechnaya in the production The Seagull. She received her second Thalia six years later for her outstanding performance as Nora in the production of Ibsen’s play of the same name at Divadlo pod Palmovkou. This year, the jury of the Actors’ Association recognised her portrayal of Olya in the production Mum, which Divadlo pod Palmovkou presents on its chamber stage, the PALM OFF Studio. For the same performance, Dočkalová was also nominated for the Theatre Critics’ Award in 2024. She has also been nominated for the Thalia Award for the role of Isabella in Measure for Measure (2018), and was longlisted for the Thalia Award for the role of Karlička in Don Juan and for the role of Mephistopheles in Faust. In 2015, she received the title of Talent of the Year as part of the Theatre Critics’ Awards.
In addition to theatre, Tereza Dočkalová is currently also involved in dubbing, radio programmes and presenting. Since 2025, she has been teaching acting at DAMU, where she leads first-year groups and thus contributes to shaping a new generation of actors.
